Pound Shop Challenge

Hi everyone,
Thanks for joining in with our SteamPunk challenge last week, we hope you enjoyed it ads much as we did.

"POUND SHOP PRETTIES"
This week it's Samm here to set the challenge and I'd like you to search out those pound shops or dollar stores and find new things to add to your stash - then create a card using your new found bargains!! Don't forget to let us know what you've used and then we know what to search for when we're next in 'town'!
Here's what the DT have come up this week using their bargain stash, don't forget to link back in the comments to your own creations, we look forward to seeing them:

Steampunk!

Hi,
thanks to all of you that joined with us last week for our "reeling in the ribbon" with
what wonderful cards you made with Nat's recipe!
And the winner of that lovely stash from The Ribbon Reel is...

Many congrats Zuzana, please contact Kathy with your details via the e-mail addy on her blog.

It's Rein here this week and my dare for you is all about
"steampunk"
You can find out all about Steampunk arts and crafts HERE and you will find lots of free downloadable things you might find helpful HERE and HERE (do a search on "steampunk").
But basically you need to look back to the end of the 19th Century and all the steam and clockwork machines that were being developed then. You need to be thinking about using steam machines, cogs, tools, balloons, clocks, metal things... on your card, and maybe making your own crazy machines!

Here's what the DT have come up with this week to help inspire you (we hope!). We hope you'll have as much fun with this challenge as we did. Don't forget to come and let us know where we can see your crazy creations.

Reeling in the ribbon

It's Nat here bringing you this week's dare...
First of all I'd just like to say how happy we were to see all the lovely entries for last week's February flowers dare - so many great cards!

We hope you'll be just as excited to join in with this week's dare.

Not only were the Design Team lucky enough to be sent some goodies to play with, but there's also a give-away from our sponsor for the week:

Check out all this yummy stash up for grabs:

Now in order to be entered into the draw for this prize, you need to create a card that features all of the following elements:

Two items of ribbon/trim/twine
One or more buttons
At least one heart element

The rules are simple:

1. Make your card using the recipe above and add it to your blog
2. Add links to both The Ribbon Reel and The Daring Cardmakers
3. Enter your card for no more than FIVE challenges (including this one)

Oh, and don't forget to let us know where we can see it, of course!

Here's what the team came up with for this recipe....

Flowers for February

Thank you all for sharing your fab and fun "Chinese New Year - Year of the Rabbit" cards with us last week. What a wonderful array of creativity we saw on our travels around your blogs
We have a wonderful new Guest Designer joining us this month,  we were thrilled when Chrissie agreed to make some of her fabulous cards just for us and we know you'll agree when you see what she's been making.
Welcome  Chrissie!

It's the first Friday of the month so this week we'd like you to take inspiration from the flowers associated with the month of February
February's flowers are the Violet and the Primrose

The colours associated with them are shades of Violet, Sky Blue and Yellow and the traditional meanings of the flowers are Modesty, Faithfulness, Virtue and Young Love

We'd love to see what you can create using one or both of these flowers as the starting point for your crafting.
We're looking forward to seeing your creations, so please come and let us know where we can see them.
Here are the Primrose and Violet cards the team have been making this week, we hope they'll help get you thinking
